Cycle for Canada
20th September 2009
Four Explorer Scouts and three Leaders completed the 55 mile cyle from Glasgow to Edinburgh today along the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals.
Starting at Lock 27 near Anniesland Cross they passed through Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Kilsyth on there way to the Falkirk Wheel. There they changed onto the Union Canal and having navigated their way through dark tunnels and over an aqueduct passed through Linlithgow and Broxburn to the finish line at Wester Hailes on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
Congratulations to Explorer Scouts, Thomas Crooks, Ross Morton, Ross Pearce and Cameron Young and Leaders, Thomas Craig, Brendan Harris and Kenneth Robertson who between them raised nearly £1000.00 towards the Explorer Belt Expedition to Canada next July.
