  • AJ13 Day 4

Author: Brendan Harris | Date: 31st July 2013

    AJ13 Day 4 blog post

    31st July

Today was a mixture of activities in the morning and a ‘Taste the Food and See the Sights’ of other countries in the afternoon.  The 145th settled on ‘Smoked Salmon and Oatcakes’ and ‘Tossing the Wellie’ to show off Scottish culture. The Swedish Unit was reckoned to be best with Caviar and non-alcoholic Wine Cordial &

    Ginger Biscuits.

Tonight there was a short Ceilidh and we are about to have a Campfire. Each unit is to lead a song and the 145th is going to do ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.

Everyone is having a great time, particularly as the sun shone most of the day.

Niall returned from his 24 hour Camp-On early this afternoon, tired but triumphant.

  • AJ13 Day 3

Author: Brendan Harris | Date: 30th July 2013

    AJ13 Day 3 blog post

Today was off site day. We visited Stirling in the morning and Blairdrummond in the afternoon.

Photo follows of the group minus Niall who went off for the 24 hour ‘Camp-On’. Niall will be back with us tomorrow after his mini adventure.

Stirling was memorable for the Blue Plaques on the street walls including Messrs Ebenezer Erskine and Campbell-Bannerman.

Everyone enjoyed Blairdrummond and the weather was sunny – no rain!!

Pasta and sauce tonight, followed by tinned fruit but everyone seemed to enjoy it none the less.

  • AJ13 Day 2 - so far anyway...

AJ13 Day 2 - so far anyway... blog post

The weather gods are a bit fickle, not to say mean, as heavy showers today followed a clear moonlit night last night. However most of the activities today have been water based, including Kayaking and Power Boating on Loch Lomond so its a case of making sure that at least the change of clothes are dry.

Everyone in good spirits, enlivened by a Banana Extravaganza at today's lunch. Mince and Tatties tonight.

Photos to follow and if we can persuade them, the next blogs from your youngsters.

    That's all folks!

  • AJ13 Day 2...Part 2

Author: Colin Lamont | Date: 29th July 2013

Today me (Jude) and Niall did "Wheels" which was track sledging, mountain boarding (snow boards with wheels) and peddle-karting. We also did "Clown About, Bounce & Play" with 3 others from the troop, which included bouncy castles and games. The best part was the Equalizer!

    First Days at AJ13

Author: Brendan Harris | Date: 28th July 2013

Some pictures of our first days at AJ13 which I hope speak for themselves

I'm afraid my computer is about to die so no more photos uploaded tonight.

Everyone had a good day today - plenty of different activities and a disco tonight.

Last night it rained quite hard but no-one got wet so a good result all round!

And tonight the sun is shining....

    Best Regards

    Brendan & Ross & Colin
